Pamela Williams - Mezzo-Soprano

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Williams has been seen on the operatic stage as Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Carmen in La Tragedie de Carmen, Bastien in Bastien and Bastienne, Voice of the Mother in Tales of Hoffman, Genevieve in Pelleas et Melisande, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, and the Grandmother in Tulsa Opera's Outreach performances of the world premiere ofDreamkeepers as well as many roles with Opera Memphis, Tulsa Opera, Quad City Mozart Festival, Nashville Opera and the Indiana University Opera Theatre. She has performed as a soloist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Fayette Chamber Orchestra and numerous university and chamber orchestras. In 1997, Ms. Williams was also an active member of the Capital City Chamber Players, performing in chamber concerts throughout the southeast. Ms. Williams holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Georgia State University and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University, where she studied with Costanza Cuccaro. Ms. Williams has recently been selected as an Artist-in-Residence for the 1998 season of the Natchez Opera Festival. Her world premieres include the song cycle A Life Filled with Flowers by Daniel Michalak and Sid Selvidge's children's opera RiverSongs, in which she created the role of Gloriana.
